Bernice Deng

People Operations Director

Bernice Deng is a student passionate about environmentalism, sustainability, education, and creating change. She started her passion for environmentalism from a 6th-grade climate change unit; the drive only accelerated after she witnessed the horrific effects of climate change. Through her youth advocacy work, she aims to impact and create change in her community. She is part of the executive team of Inspirate Earth, which aims to re-imagine climate education. At Inspirate Earth, she and her team hosted workshops and a week-long summer program to inform youth about Climate Change, environmental policy, and more. Currently, the team is embarking on a Climate Restoration project which would include long-term benefits such as climate education integration, sustainability policies, and student engagement in her school district.

Bernice is currently the Director of People Operations at Climate Cardinals. There, she has recruited over 100+ passionate youth into the team, managed various high-performing teams, and collaborated with goals and projects at the executive level. Additionally, she creates climate content on Twitter/X and Linkedin for climate activists like Sophia Kianni. One of her tweets gained enough traction to be featured on Fox News. Bernice also started a newsletter under Sophia’s account dedicated to opportunities in climate, sustainability, and social impact. Within a year of the launching date, we have over 77K subscribers and thousands of people sharing how it has positively impacted them including finding jobs from the newsletter alone. Bernice also has a fond passion for geology, minerals, and building wooden planes.
