Climate Cardinals launches "Climate Calling" to revolutionize youth engagement in climate action
New York, NY — Climate Cardinals, one of the world’s largest youth-led climate organizations, is proud to announce the launch of "Climate Calling,” a groundbreaking digital platform connecting young people passionate about climate advocacy with impactful opportunities worldwide. Designed to support an organized, prepared, and driven generation of youth leaders, Climate Calling provides actionable opportunities to amplify their on-the-ground impact.
The platform addresses an urgent need. After receiving 5,000 applications for just 50 volunteer spots, Climate Cardinals recognized a widespread lack of centralized resources for youth climate engagement. Climate Calling bridges this gap by leveraging its 16,000-member network and 130 chapters to offer opportunities, aiming to reach 200,000 users monthly and drive local and global action.
Opportunities span various sectors, regions, and themes. For instance, the Global Ambassador program with Blue Planet Alliance invites young leaders to advocate for a renewable energy future by 2045. Climate Calling also equips youth with skill-building resources and fosters collaboration to strengthen advocacy efforts.
“Climate Calling creates a space where young leaders, especially those from underserved regions, can expand their impact in the climate movement,” said Sophia Kianni, President of Climate Cardinals. “These are the voices the world needs to hear and support.”
The platform’s development was made possible by the Eleven Eleven Foundation, whose funding was instrumental in bringing Climate Calling to life. “We are inspired by the transformative potential of Climate Calling,” said a spokesperson for the foundation. “By empowering youth to take action, this initiative strengthens the global climate movement and builds a sustainable future.”
Climate Calling also launches with support from partners such as Peace Boat US, Zero Hour, OneUpAction, Global Citizen, Climate Reality, Eco Interpreters, and Climate Interactive. “With Climate Calling, we’re providing young leaders with actionable tools and opportunities to grow their impact where it’s needed most,” added Hikaru Wakeel Hayakawa, Executive Director of Climate Cardinals.
